FLAG ETIQUETTE

1. During sunrise to sunset, DO display the U.S. flag on buildings and flagstaffs in the open. Keep the flag illuminated if you want to display it 24-hours a day.

2. DO place the U.S. flag above others when placed on a single staff or lanyard.

3. When displaying flags in a row, DO position the U.S. flag on the observer’s left. Flags from other countries are flown at the same height. Local and State flags are flown lower.

4. Do position the U.S. Flag to the observer’s left when used during a marching ceremony or parade.
